Electrical cables are used in different places which can be our homes, organizations, factories, and many other day to day places. They are used in various applications too. Cables are used to pass on electricity or data from one place to another. These cables are basically of two types: Single-core and Multicore cables. This enhances the question that what are these cables and how are they used?

Single-core cable
As the name says, a single-core cable is created with a single constructor which can be of aluminum or copper insulation. A single core underground cable can not be witnessed, because it is buried in a ditch. The physical appearance of the cable (Thickness, Size, Length, Colour) can be changed according to the work cable has to perform.

Single-core cables are of two types, that can be solid or stranded. The solid ones have a thicker diameter and they also offer good rigidity accompanied by toughness. The stranded single-core cables present better flexibility than solid construction.

Applications of Single core cable:

Single-core cables are broadly used for domestic purposes such as household electrical devices.

Multicore cable
Multicore cables merge numerous conductors or signals into a single outer covering made of PVC or polyethylene jacket. This jacket makes the cable more potent and provides mechanical safety. An aluminum sheath is often used under the cover of the jacket to provide electromagnetic shielding. To additionally enhance mechanical strength, each conductor can have an individual jacket. The application of multicore cables can be visible to everyone as they run overhead on a wall or ceiling.

Applications of Multicore cable:

The applications of multicore cables can be found in different industrial sectors. They are ideal conductors of electricity and are heavy power machines.
