Dry Eyes Syndrome is a medical term for dry eyes. This causes insufficient tears to form in your eyes. Tears are mainly composed of oil, water and mucus. Adequate watering of the eye is essential for normal eye health as it helps in getting rid of dust and dirt in the eye. Tears also protect the eyes and retain moisture in the eyes, but if tears stop coming from the eyes then there can be many problems that need to face. Symptoms of dry eyes :
The following features indicate dry eyes:
String mucus in or around the eyes
Eye saliva
Blinking, burning, or tingling in the eyes
Difficulty wearing contact lenses
Blurred vision
It is difficult to drive at night
The sensation of having something in the eyes
Eye fatigue
Eyes of water
Dry eyes may be present in patients even if they do not show any physical symptoms.
Risk factors for dry eyes
The following factors may increase the risk of dry eyes:
Wearing contact lenses
Eating a diet low in vitamin A.
To be over 50 years old
Using smart phones, Television, Laptop, for a long time
Increasing age and hormonal imbalance
varicose veins, thyroid and diabetes increase the
Tears due to swelling or radiation, damage to the glands, which reduces the formation of tears
Deficiency of vitamin A
Systematic conditions such as sjogren's syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis.
These are the remedies to overcome from dry eye syndrome :
Avoid using computers and smartphones for long periods of time. Avoid watching TV too much. Do not apply air directly to the eyes. Pollution and use sunglasses.
If you are working on computer for a long time, stop working from time to time, put rose water in your eyes and wash your eyes with cold water.
Include all nutrients in the diet.
Exercise. Avoid smoking, alcohol consumption. Avoid stress. Potassium deficiency causes dry eyes. For this, consume wheat germ, almonds, bananas, raisins, figs and avocado.
